| They
say there is no ‘tomorrow’ for a child. There is only ‘today’.
Parents, however, look for a tomorrow. This issue of Spiritual
Impressions focuses on this ‘today’ for both the parent and
the child. Bhagawan Baba never stops short of reminding parents of their
responsibility towards the child – be it a two-year-old or a
twenty-year-old. He says, "Above all, realise that children are a
precious treasure. Yours is the great task of helping them to become
devotee servants of God and sincere aspirants of the spiritual path."
No one can make us realise the urgency of being responsible to children
the way Bhagawan can. |

We spoke to three parents who have been influenced by
Bhagawan in their own upbringing and in the upbringing of their children.
We have recorded their experience in bringing up children in the Sai way.
We have explored the education scenario and the way it needs to positively
influence child learning today. We have given special attention to ‘Children’s
Corner’ in this issue. Besides our regular parables, we hear fortunate
children express their relation with the Divine. In ‘Prayers – Heart
To Heart Communion’ too, we focus on God as the parent. In ‘Faces In
Focus’ we revere Bhagawan’s schoolteacher and first biographer – V.
C. Kondappa. After all, a teacher too is a parent! Our reviews on three
books on ‘Parenting’ take you to the heart of the matter as it were.

We have for our readers a few rewarding anecdotes of
fortunate and grateful individuals experiencing Divinity. Even when we
thought that the Divine had deserted the less fortunate in
earthquake-ravaged Gujarat, we see His invisible Hand working small
miracles that make big differences in human life. The miracle workers are
sometimes human beings themselves. |
