| It is wonderful to be back again, writing to you, readers after two months. Two months of intense spiritual search kept most of you busy wherever you are, I guess. With Bhagawan at Brindavan for the entire summer, there were some wonderful Darshan sessions. There wasn’t much of a crowd, though, during the Buddha Poornima week, we had many brothers and sisters from South East Asia visiting Brindavan to have Bhagawan’s Darshan and participate in the celebrations. Brindavan vibrated with omkaram and Buddham Saranam Gacchami. It was a time for prayer. | ||||||||||

Keeping in mind the current spiritual yearning, we focus
this issue on the subject of prayer. What does it actually mean to us? What
happens to us when we pray? A devotee once asked Bhagawan, "Swami,
sometimes we feel we have prayed well, yet nothing happens. Our prayers are not
answered. Is something wrong with our prayer or with the method of our prayer?
Bhagawan was quick to answer, "The very feeling of ‘feel good’ about a
prayer is wrong. During a prayer session, there is no difference in identity
between the person who is praying to whom he or she is praying and the prayer
itself. It is a moment where there is only one and not many. There is no
different identity. The moment the identity of the person praying emerges,
there is no prayer. Though there has been a fairly silent ashram life around Bhagawan, His divine glory is spreading like a raging fire. Human values conferences, youth activities and retreats and mature discussions on Bhagawan’s life and message are gaining momentum. His glory is Sai Baba. He is Howard Murphet. We publish alongside one of his articles published earlier elsewhere. An inspired life inspired by the Divine Master Himself. Bhagawan is back in Prasanthi Nilayam and another season of
functions is beginning. To start with: the International Bal Vikas Gurus
Conference during Guru Poornima. Bhagawan’s emphasis has been of late on real
service with commitment and devotion. He wants us to strengthen the fabric of
the family and society. |
